TheOwners

A perfect marriage between Bernadette, Jeff & Eddies love for food...
The Larder is the most recent addition to the Big Banana Family. The group of restaurants now numbering three (3) are owned and operated by established experienced restaurateur siblings Bernadette, Jeff & Eddie.

The Larder’s upscale gourmet to-go, offering epicurean prepared meals and catering is based on Jeff & Bernadette’s extensive gourmet knowledge and experience. The daily menu features only the finest fresh produce, fish, meats, & fowl that the island has to offer.

TheHistory

25 years of experience and success in the catering business!
Siblings Bernadette, Jeff & Eddie took over the Big Banana Company in 1984 and established one of Antigua’s most popular Hot Spots, fondly known to many as “Pizzas”, where friends, families and business partners gather to enjoy the great food in a great atmosphere.

In 1994 the company expanded as they won the bid to run the restaurant at the International Airport, now known as Big Banana 17°61°, catering to friends of all walks of life from all parts of the world as they pass though the Airport.

In June 1999, they took over Spinnaker’s Restaurant on Dickenson Bay, which undertook major renovations and re-opened as The Beach Restaurant with an Asian, Mediterranean influence, and the first restaurant to introduce Sushi to Antigua. After a successful and exciting 10 year lease they closed the beach restaurant. Now in 2011 the siblings have taken on the new gastronomic deli café The Larder, and already expanded to add the hugely popular Sushi bar.

  • My favourite spot in Antigua. Food is always amazing and always consistent. All staff members pleasant, friendly, warm and welcoming. Salads always fresh and lovely. Weesam your salads are truly an inspiration and are unmatched. Can't wait to drop by on my next trip to Antigua.

  • As usual, the food is delicious, but what I want to speak of specifically is the staff and the service. I have never been treated BETTER than when I am at the Larder. Those folks know how to do customer service with grace and class that makes every person, be it an AUA student or a multi-billionaire yachty or a local "granny" who comes in for a quick piece of cake or even me, just an average girl, needing to chill for a few hours - we are all treated with the exact same dignity and respect and cordiality that delights me to my core. You have trained staff who know how to make the customers smile and want to return. You are my favourite lunch spot. Thank you for being decent and so affordable (AND utterly delish for noms!!!) xoxoxo Sera

  • My daughter grandson and I stopped by to get some dinner. Everything that they served us was great! Starting with their excellent customer service! We ended up eating a GELATO which was also great! I can't wait to go back again! My family and I really enjoyed ourselves!
